Bulgarian Society for the Protection of Birds placed a second bird platform in the western part of Beloslav lake. The platform is pontoon and its construction is part of the activities within the project Life for Lake Varna LIFE19 NAT/BG/000839, co-funded by the European Union and in which BPSB is a partner of the Bulgarian Ports Infrastructure Co.
This is the second platform, placed within the project framework, thanks to the work of the BSPB’s experts and volunteers as well as of the help of the Dura Tiles company from city of Novi Pazar, who donated part of the materials.
The platform is roughly 32 square meters in size. We hope that during the forthcoming nesting season it will attract some species of terns, which has almost no other suitable places for breeding in Varna-Beloslav lake complex. This will support the increasing and stabilizing of the population of their species in the area.
